I am so passionate and committed to the work that I do because I am someone who has benefitted tremendously from the experience of therapy myself. Not unlike many other therapists or those drawn into other helping professions, I have not always been the person I am today.

I have experienced deep and profound wounding in my life. I am a survivor of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), narcissistic abuse, and I have personal experience with dissociation, specifically depersonalization/derealization.

The journey to becoming the version of me that you will meet today has taken years, vulnerability, dedication, tears, therapy appointments (some of which I did not want to attend), energy, effort, & so much more. I share this because I think it's so important for folks to know that change is possible; healing and growth are possible and are never ending. I know how vital it is for a therapist to hold hope for change when a client is struggling to find that hope within themselves. I say all of this, so you understand that I see you and look forward to holding space for you. While I don't know your experiences yet, I may, in time, understand them that much more deeply because of my own. 

In the therapy room: In the therapy room I show up very genuinely and authentically, as a human being, just like you. ​I am causal, personable, and genuine in my approach, but still utilize my training and skills. I work with each of my clients to understand what they want from their experience in therapy, we will identify your goals and work toward them together.  My goal is not to be a teacher, leader, or director in the therapy room but to be a companion alongside of you.

I truly believe that you are the expert on yourself. I believe that when we collaborate, we can achieve your goals way more efficiently than if I put on my “expert” hat and tell you what to do. Whether you’re choosing this practice or someone else’s, you’re looking around for a reason and I'm sending you encouragement to take the first step in finding the care you deserve.

Outside of therapy: When I'm not working, you'd likely find me reading a book. I am definitely a bookworm and proud nerd. When I'm not reading therapy books I love escaping into fantasy or historical fiction. You'd also likely find me gardening, painting, gaming, doing advocacy or volunteer work, walking my dogs (Izzy & Dexter), hanging out with my cats (Leo & Meatball), going for a hike, making stained glass, doing a messy home DIY project, or taking a nap. 

​Eliza (she/her) is a Charlotte native. She is a counseling intern working towards earning her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College in 2021.

Eliza believes in the power of the therapeutic alliance - no matter the reason you’re here today, her goal is to support you in a nonjudgmental, culturally sensitive, affirming, and compassionate way. In session, she utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach, meaning she finds value in pieces of multiple counseling theories to offer clients a unique and individualized therapeutic experience that best meets their needs.

Eliza is client-centered and meets you where you are. She firmly believes in your expertise of your own lived experience and aims to create a collaborative atmosphere where you work together to achieve wellness. Whether you are looking to build coping skills, increase self-awareness, identify patterns that aren't working for you, or identify and examine internalized beliefs, Eliza will work with you at a comfortable, personalized pace to set to help you meet your goals.

Eliza’s clinical interests include (but are not limited to) queer identities, sexuality, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, life transitions, relationships, and eating disorders. As an intern, she is committed to ongoing professional development and staying up to date on current best practices and research in the field. In her personal life, she is a singer/songwriter, a competitive Scrabble player, and an avid foodie (but terrible cook).
